Kunstkamera was a demo iOS application I built sometime around 2014-2015 inspired by David Hockney's book "Secret Knowledge".
It followed a simple idea that if you overlay a semi-translucent photograph over the view of the camera on an iPad you draw what appeared in the photograph on a piece of paper.
This would allow the artist a level of verisimilitude without having to go through a rigorous drawing process.
The name is combination of the German words "kunst" meaning art and "kamera". The fact that "Kunstkamera" is a museum of curiosities in St. Petersburg, Russia is a complete conincidence and this project has no connection to it whatsoever.
